1. What is important to you personally about privacy?
· Having people’s respect
· Being able to do what you want without question

2. What information about yourself are you comfortable in giving out?
· Anything but Social Security Number
· Comfortable giving first name; not last
· Gender
· Age Birthday

3. Where do you draw the line and say “That’s none of your business!”
· Address
· Phone number
· Passwords
· Credit card number
· Depends on situation
· Marital status
· Religion
· Sexual preference

4. What do you think of when I ask you about confidentiality (privacy)?
· Degree of trust (teacher/student)
· Between you and me
· Lock and key
· Secrets
· Wire tapping
· Dr.’s medical information

· Stalkers
· Hacking

5. What influences in our society are changing how we think about privacy?
· Media/news reporting
· Information that is supposed to be safe and is not
· Teacher/student interaction being violated, loss of trust, embarrassing and ridiculing students
· Locker checks

· Threat of terrorism / bomb threats
· Government seems to have access to everything. Why? PATRIOT Act

· Each – has a different need to know

10. What decisions have you made about your privacy? Do you take any actions to protect your privacy?
· Make my online page private
· Do not give out any Ids
· Do not give out private information – address, phone, ID, Social Security, cell phone number
· Would not want to have any identifying information on clothing
· Use pop-up blocker
· Parents have talked to kids about privacy
· This issue was talked about in school

11. What trade‑offs or compromises would you be willing to make with your privacy?
· “I wouldn’t make compromisest
· Giving out limited information
· Do not compromise
· I would give information to a doctor for mental and medical reasons
