1. What is important to you personally about privacy?
· Feel that my “stuff” is private
· We need to be safe but with a balance of privacy

· In certain situations (teachers) you are more apt to give information (when confidential is assured)

· Schools going on MySpace to find information on kids – police searches of lockera and MySpace postings

· Free time vs. school time –information about what you do out of school shouldn’t have impact on school time

· Library books (what people are reading looking at on the web)
· Medical history – insurance companies can abuse this information

· If person has criminal record

· This is different if you meet face-to-face vs online
10. What decisions have you made about your privacy? Do you take any actions to protect your privacy?
· Firewall / anti-spyware
· I am much more aware of what I do especially when on the web

· Be careful in what you tell people face-to-face
· Make to set up private settings for web sites (Facebook, MySpace, etc.)

· I am going away to college and want to make new friends so I am sharing some information online
· For convenience (save credit card information)

12. Are you surprised at any of the things you have heard today?
· Can find telephone and addresses online
· That some people know they should do certain things to protect their privacy, but don’t do it
· That some people see a difference between face-to-face and online contact
