That we have expectation of it in our society, comfort that I have it and it’s respected, building it amongst others
What information about yourself are you comfortable in giving out?
Depends on the company, very subjective, must feel safe with audience
What do you think of when I ask you about confidentiality?
Credit card applications, that when it is asked for it must be absolutely respected, what I write online in an anonymous forum is different from what I write at work
What influences in our society are changing how we think about privacy?
Outrageous media behavior (such as Paris Hilton), internet, paparazzi, YouTube, health care requirements
How do you feel about privacy? What concerns do you have about privacy?
not sure I have many concerns about privacy, we are losing it, social networking sites preventing people from getting jobs in the future
What types of information could hurt a person if made public?
Behavior in the past and present, sexuality, health, financial affairs, social security numbers, bank accounts, past felonies
What decisions have you made about your privacy? Do you take any actions to protect your privacy?
Shred documents, google myself every six months or so, don’t give out social security number, sign up for the do not call list
What trade-offs or compromises would you be willing to make with your privacy?
give up health info already to insurance companies, blood sample to get health insurance
not many, for example wal-mart sends out free gift cards if you agree to sign-up here, no thanks
